LinksI'm a member of the Academic Alpine Club Zürich (AACZ), and most of my trips I do with people from this club. There you will find great links about the weather and planning trips in the alps, as well as a huge gallery of mountain pictures. My favorite weather link is: www.westwind.ch an extremely compact interface to all the weather forecast models, but also satellite images, webcams and written forecasts on the web. To generate these slideshows, I used the freeware programm "HomeGallery" from Stephan Heymann.
Please check your display settings:All images are best viewed with min. 1024x768 pixel in sRGB colorspace.
One of the best Monitor calibration charts I have ever seen, you find at www.aim-dtp.net. (be careful, people do not agree on everyting written on Timo's site, but his calibration charts are really great. Use the Gamma 2.2 for sRGB). If you click on the link, a new window will open. Adjust your monitor to maximum contrast and view the image at 100% scaling and adjust the gamma, that the chart on the left does not show any color. On the upper black bar on the right you should see black and very dark grey squares alternating, on the lower bar these differences should not be visible - with these two adjust the brightness of your monitor. Then do the whole procedure once again, as the gamma and brightness controls are not independent of each other. A better description can be found on the original site. If you dont want to use the above source, try the very simple steps described below:
